Great! We do have a few guidelines that we ask applicants to review first, to make sure we’re starting the conversation on the same page.
We seek like-minded, market leaders who care about their legacy, employees, and relationships, and want to remain involved in the business in some capacity following acquisition.
While we review every business on their own merits and on a case-by-case basis, the following criteria is generally what we’re looking for in a partner:
The business provides HVAC or mechanical services, including electrical, plumbing, or related fields, with a core focus on replacement and retrofit work
Generating between $5 million and $100 million in revenues for a substantive partnership, or a minimum of $1.5 million for a “tuck-in” acquisition
Demonstrated leadership in their market, with a differentiated value proposition Has a clear line of succession in place from a strong leader through mid-management teams
Non-union operations
Located in the central United States: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Pennsylvania, or upstate New York. Businesses located in other states will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Primarily servicing commercial accounts, though additional residential components are attractive
Customer- and employee-focused, and driven by a culture of mutual respect and aligned interests
